I have to agree with the others. My 7yr. old would lose it or drop it. He drops his DS & Leap Frog thing all the time with no damage. He also loses them (lost the Ds on trip to Indiana at Christmas & just found it last week)quite frequently and they are much easier to find than an iPod. Morgan didn;t get her iPod touch until she turned 13. Anya would love either the DS or Leap Frog thing:)

Our neighbor Jane is 12 and got one last summer. She has since broken it 2x. My girls want one, but their DSI's are great for them for now.
Anya's Uncle Dan is the one to do that.
Maybe a Game Boy would be a little more appropriate? Or that pink Nintendo thing? Sounds like an Uncle Dan thing to do.
DSI's are very durable. My 5 yr old loves hers. Can't even think about an ipod touch for my girls! It would be broken or lost in minutes.
