Let me interrupt our regular programming...

Every now and again, I use this blog to talk about things other than Anya and what is going on with her. Now is one of those times.

I have several friends that I hold close. By several, I mean I can count them on one hand. These friends I would do anything for. They've prayed for me, and have been my strength in ways they don't even know about. Now, I get to payback that favor for one of my precious friends.

A few years ago, my beautiful sweet friend, Kim got married. Actually - she got married in our front room! Our staircase was her aisle, and our backyard and deck served as a reception hall.

Kim married Bart. Bart is a good man. A strong Christ-follower, loves his family; holds Kim on a pedestal - which in my opinion, is right where she should be! When Bart and Kim first got married, I was bummed because that meant that my friend was moving. Kim's moving has become a real blessing in disguise. We still see each other every few months. Kim lives fairly close to another one of my friends whom I hold close. It has been great to visit both of them and be able to spend time with both of my friends at the same time!

Kim and Bart's marriage blends 2 families to form one with a lot of kids! Correction, a family with a LOT of daughters! One of Bart's girls has cancer. I talked about it several times before (in 2008) here on this blog.

A few days ago, we found out that this precious little girl is fighting cancer again. She is 10 years old, and is facing another fight of her life. I don't know what to say, other than to ask you to please pray. Pray for her, unceasingly.

Thank you.

If this sounds familiar, and you are a regular reader of this blog...it is because a year ago (almost exactly) I was asking you to pray for another daughter of a friend. I don't want to make this an annual thing...I hope this is the last time I am on my knees with this kind of a prayer.

update on Jessie

A quick update on Jessica. Jessica goes in for her Stem Cell Rescue on the 19th of August and needs your prayers. Jessie is doing well. If you would like to follow her progress, go to the following website. At the top of the site - you can see photos, leave her a message (which she would LOVE)...you can tell her you know her through her Dad and Kim.

Jessie

Hi friends,

Just heard from Kim, and she said that Jessie is in good spirits this weekend. They were able to get out and have some much needed fun. The next few weeks are going to be hard - but we're praying for a miracle!

I thought I would post some pictures of Jessie (and her sister, and her Dad) - so you know who you are praying for.

update on Jessie

I just got a note from Kim - an update on Jessie's surgery today. Below is the update - please pray for her, her family and the doctors...

Jessie’s cancer has come back and it has spread through her body. The doctor is saying that she has a 20-30% chance of survival, but it does not look good. He said that the fact that it took four years for it to come back is a sign that her chances may be a bit better. She will start chemo and radiation right away.

PRAYERS PLEASE

Hello All - please join with us in prayer for this little girl - her soon-to-be stepmom is one of my closest friends.

This is a quick note to ask you to be praying for Jessica. For those of you who don’t know…she is soon to be my step-daughter. Jessica is going to be 8 this month and at the age of three was diagnosed with cancer. She has been cancer free for 3 years now, but is going in for surgery on Thursday because they found some “hot spots” on one of her scans today. This is not necessarily cancerous. The doctor says that it could very well be a cyst that he can easily remove and biopsy on Thursday.

God HEALED Jessie three years ago, and we continue to stand on that TRUTH! Please pray with us that the Lord would send His ministering angels to Jessica…That they would continue to minister healing to her body; peace to her heart, mind and soul; prosperity in every area of her little life.
